Happy Republic Day!

June second is the Italian Festa della Repubblica! Everyone has school and work off on this day, so a group of the friends I made on this trip decided to take a day trip to the beach.
We made our way over to Riccione with a few of the other student’s host sisters as our guides. We spent the day relaxing here and celebrating with the locals. One of the aspects of this beach that I found interesting was how nice the public beach access was. We paid just five euros for our own private chairs and changing room.
On our way home from Riccione the group got separated. At this time we were not overly familiar with the trains yet, so me and one other girl hoped on the first train we saw. It only took us one stop to realize that we had gotten onto the wrong train. Luckily, we were able to get off and correct this mistake at the next stop, but the price was standing for two hours while we made our journey back.
This is Piadina which is popular in the Romagna area of Italy. There are many variations of this dish, but mine consisted of mozzarella, prosciutto, and tomatoes.
