Reflection

Commerce Site

Personally, I felt like there was a big learning curve for me switching from using Visual Studio Code to WordPress. Due to this it took me a long time to wrap my head around constructing the website on this platform, but after playing around with it I finally got the hang of things. For the commerce website I am specifically proud of each of the items I created to sell. I used AI to create some of the product pictures to look the way I wanted. I have never used AI like that so it was cool to see my vision created online. I also am happy with the overall look of the site. I used the Storefront theme, but I went in and altered to colors and fonts to match my vision. The WooCommerce plugin made it easier to construct the products. I am proud of my hats because it has the extra feature of selecting a different color which took me a while to figure out. Once I did though I applied a similar feature relating to size options to both of the PJ sets.

Content Site

I also had some learning curves relating to the content site. The biggest being the concept of a posts page. I did not understand how to create posts that would appear on my blog page, so at first I did this incorrectly. Luckily this was able to be fixed relatively easily (and it gave me a lot of exposure to using different features on WordPress by constructing that page by hand). I wanted to maintain a similar look to my commerce website, so I used the same colors, fonts, and background colors to make them look somewhat cohesive. I used the Twenty Twenty Three theme to construct this website. This theme was straightforward to use, but it took me a little bit to figure out how to edit certain features on site. I am proud of the overall look of the content site. I am proud that I was able to pivot and fix my mistakes without panicking. Overall, I enjoyed learning how to navigate WordPress and the various themes and features.
